I’m partnering with J.Jill to share how I’m preparing my wardrobe for fall. Summer is still going strong in Seattle but fall will be here before we know it. The days are getting shorter and nights are cooler. There’re so many things I love about fall. My absolute favorite part is fall fashion. Here’re 3 simple steps to get your closet ready for the upcoming season.
- Rearrange Closet: Put away your summer clothes to make room for fall clothes. I’m still going to keep my floral pieces in dark colors because they’ll transition well into fall. I used to store my summer clothes in the garage but now that I have more closet space, I place my off season clothes on higher shelves. That way everything I need for the current season are right there in front of me (petite girl’s problem).
- Assess your wardrobe: I’m kind of a neat freak and hate a messy closet. At the start of every season, I go through and donate clothes I haven’t worn in a couple of years. That way my closet isn’t cluttered with clothes I don’t wear anymore. It’s so much easier to see what I have and assess what I need.
- Plan out new addition: I’m a planner by nature. I have a list for pretty much everything from wardrobe planning to spring cleaning and meal planning. For this fall, cardigans are on top of my list of items to purchase. They are my favorite layering piece. What’s great about cardigans is they come in variety of styles, colors and materials to choose from. They’re easy to style. These beautiful cardigans from J.Jill are my newest addition. They’re beautiful and versatile. Both cardigans will look beautiful with leggings to jeans and dresses. What I love about J.Jill is that I can always count on high quality and great fit. The fit is perfect for my extra petite frame. I’m wearing XSP for both pieces. I always have issue with sleeves running long on me but both pieces fit me perfectly.
The red yarn topper is an eye catcher. The color is rich and perfect for fall. It’s warm and cozy like wearing my favorite blanket. It has a nice weight to it but not heavy. The sweater has room to stretch so I can layer it over another sweater on really cold days. I paired it with a little black dress for a Sunday brunch and took it off when it got warmer in the afternoon.
The double faced black/camel cardigan is so soft. It’s a great transition piece from summer to fall. I wore this to a coffee meet up with my sister. I went for a casual look with a white top and high waisted jeans. This cardigan is perfect is layering over lightweight blouses because of its slimmer cut.
Thank you J.Jill for sponsoring this post! Thank you so much for visiting.
