NYE Party Outfit Ideas

Can you believe NYE is just around the corner? I put together 3 looks to help you plan out your outfit whether you're attending a formal black tie party or work party . Check out my holiday party lookbook series (here, here and here) for additional ideas. As a girly girl who loves finding an excuse to dress up, I definitely had a lot of fun getting dolled up this holiday season.

All the looks in this post and the holiday party lookbook series are under $150. I’m a big believer of affordable fashion. You don’t have to break your bank to look good. All the outfits I’ve shared on this blog are budget friendly. I’ll occasionally splurge on timeless pieces (i.e. handbags and trench coats) that I’ll wear over and over for years to come.

Look 1: Side Slits Maxi Dress

This gorgeous dress is perfect for formal black tie parties. I bought it a few years ago for a wedding but ended up not wearing it. It’s from Forever21 and paid less than $40. The material is soft like silk. I love how this dress accentuates my curves. The ruch details in the front create an illusion of a flat tummy. After having Jayce, I can use all the  help I can get in that department. The cutouts and side slits made this dress sexy without revealing too much skin. However, I made a slight adjustment to the front cutout to make it smaller using a safety pin.

Look 2: Velvet + Sequins

Sequins are perfect  for NYE parties. I usually shy away from them but for NYE, bring on all the sequins. You know I’m a big fan of velvet pieces, I had to include it in my NYE outfits. Velvet pieces are so beautiful, it was so easy to pair this deep v-neck bodysuit with a sequins skirt. I wore this exact same skirt last year. I got it on-sale for less than $20 from H&M. The velvet top is also from H&M. It was a recent purchase because I couldn’t help myself. I’m wearing a size 2 and wished I sized up to 4 because it’s pretty snug on me.

Look 3: Fit-and-Flare with Faux Fur

This fit-and-flare dress is perfect for work parties. I added a pink faux fur stole to glam up the look. The double bows on the shoulder is a touch of feminine detail which I adore. I’m a big fan of fit-and-flare dresses. They’re timeless and my go-to style for the office. It’s one of those styles that's flattering on any body type.

I hope you have a safe and fun NYE celebration. Thank you so much for reading.

Velvet + Faux Fur – Holiday Party Lookbook

I love finding any excuse to get dressed up. One of the reasons why I love the holidays season is because I get to dolled up for parties and events. Dresses and skirts are my usual go to but I like mixing things up with a chic jumpsuit like this one.

You know I’ve been in love with velvet lately so it’s probably not a surprise to see me in a velvet jumpsuit. This jumpsuit is perfect for holiday parties and it’s super affordable. Wait until I tell you how much I paid. I love how the velvet adds a glam factor to this jumpsuit. This jumpsuit is comfy and has plenty of room to hide a happy food belly after a lunch/dinner party. I love it that I can stay warm while looking chic, unlike dresses and skirts I’m always freezing when I have to go outside.

Plus you can never have too many black in your closet, right? This jumpsuit is from Old Navy and I paid less than $16. What a deal right? I’m wearing an XSP.

Let’s not forget about this beautiful faux fur coat. I love incorporating faux fur pieces to my outfits during the cold weather season because they’re so soft and warm. It always feel like wearing my favorite blanket. I just want to cuddle and take a nap. Hehe….

Thank you so much for visiting.

Velvet Wrap Dress – Holiday Party Lookbook

It’s probably safe to say that velvet is my absolute favorite for this holiday season. I’ve been sharing different velvet pieces that are perfect for holiday parties, check out my Instagram to see the looks.

This jewel tone velvet wrap dress is an absolute beauty. The emerald green is vibrant and playful. I was never a big fan of green until I saw this dress. I love how the rich hue brings out my eyes and highlights on my hair. The mini skirt adds playfulness while the velvet brings a touch of elegance to this dress. I've linked up other velvet dresses I'm loving down below.

Perfect Boots for the Boot Season

I’m super picky when it comes to shoes, especially boots. They have to be stylish and comfortable. On top of my pickiness, I have tiny feet (size 4.5 or 5) so I have really hard time finding shoes in my size. You can imagine how many boots I’ve bought and returned.

When Aetrex reached out to me I was super excited because they’re the global leader in comfort and wellness footwear products. They designed their shoes with fashion, function and quality in mind. Aetrex has wide selection of shoes to choose from whether you're looking for boots or heels.

I’m wearing Kara Ankle Riding Boot in size 5. These boots are gorgeous and comfortable. I’ve walked over 2 miles in these boots and my feet were comfortable because the bottom rubber absorbs shock with every steps I take.  In addition, these boots come with slow recovery memory foam cushioning that customize to my feet. They have built in Lynco® orthotic support to help align my knees, hips and back. I love it that the anti-microbial technology was used to keep my feet odor free and prevent bacteria growth. The side buckles are not just for looks. They are adjustable to help you stay comfortable.

Thank you Aetrex for sponsoring this post.

Pleat on Pleat: Holiday Party Lookbook

Velvet is the hottest trend of the season. You can satisfy your velvet obsession with dresses, shoes or accessories. Velvet is perfect for the holiday season because it adds a touch of elegance and glamour. This pleated velvet skirt was my very first velvet purchase. I’ve been in love with velvet ever since. I love the soft velvety feel of the fabric.

I also love wearing jewel tone pieces during the holiday to add a touch of color. This magenta hue is so beautiful. It paired beautifully with this white tunic. This look is perfect for holiday parties. A hint of sparkle is a must have so I added a statement necklace to complete the look.

I think every girl needs a good white button up top. If you’re looking for one, look no further. This top is beautiful and super versatile. It looks so chic with a pair of leggings. That’s what I’ll be wearing on Thanksgiving. For a dressed up look, pair it with a maxi skirt like I did here. I’ve also worn it to work with a pencil skirt.  For reference, I’m wearing an XSP and the fit is perfect.

Wishing you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving! We're hosting a family Thanksgiving dinner at our house this year. I'll be sharing photos on my story so be sure to follow along.

Thank you J.Jill for sponsoring this post.
